There hadn’t been a better coupling since the divine marriage of chocolate and peanut butter. So the question is, why did Slamball, the game that had the good sense to provide this holy union, not become the sensation that it certainly appeared to be on paper?

Slamball was the brainchild of Mason Gordon, a man with a peculiar vision; a sport that finally rendered the exhilarating dynamics of video games a reality. In 2001, he took the idea to Mike Tollin, the producer behind such TV shows and movies as “Arliss” and “Wild Hogs.” Surprisingly, Gordon’s attempt to sell the concept of a new game consisting primarily of men jumping around on trampolines was a tricky endeavor. Sure enough, though, six months later a court had been constructed to attempt to bring the dream to life.
